Reinforcement geogrids are structural elements used as earth reinforcements to build retaining walls and reinforced earth structures. Suitably placed within the structure to be reinforced, geosynthetic reinforcements develop a tensional state that allows the composite system to sustain high levels of stress.
Differently from a woven geofabric – which has a closed mesh surface – geogrids have a different geometrical structure. The open mesh structure allows the product to develop a “passive” resistance near transversal elements, thus increasing its intrinsic stabilizing effect. TeMa geogrids are woven uniaxial or biaxial FG or PET structures.
