Ballasted flat roofs

Ballast flat roofs

Effective for protecting the building’s roof structure from damage, the ballasted flat roof solution is a suitable option for both residential and commercial buildings. Choosing to use pebbles brings considerable advantages, such as protecting the roof from wind, UV rays and mechanical damage, low maintenance, thermal comfort in summer, resistance to fire, and long service life.

With ballasted flat roofs, appropriate products are required to ensure they fulfil a number of functions:

- mechanical protection for waterproofing
- filtration
- separation
- rainwater drainage.

T-Kone G-Drain from TeMa is the HDPE studded membrane — featuring good compressive strength — laminated to a geotextile used to provide mechanical protection for waterproofing membranes, and additionally serving to provide drainage (and filtration and separation) to cope with both high and low loads. A multi-tasking solution for ballasted flat roofs.
